Friedrich Kunath’s (* 1974 in Karl-Marx-Stadt, lives in Los Angeles and Munich) artworks are a melancholic and humorous remix of elements of German Romanticism and contemporary pop culture. With references to landscape painting, GDR television, and pop music, the exhibition revolves around questions about distant wanderings and arrival. It features works — paintings, sculptures, installations, and videos — that are linked to various stages in the artist’s life.

With Kunath, whose art his gallery describes as "romantic conceptualism", these intermediary viewers grow beyond themselves by means of ladders or gigantic enlargement. Or remain trapped within themselves, like the man dressed only in shorts, whose head is stuck in a birdcage and who is casually sitting on the carpet in front of Kunath's KINDL room, cast in bronze, as if he had been looking for the sunset and had landed in an exhibition.

The centrepiece of the exhibition is the installation "All Your Fears Trapped Inside". Furniture, items of clothing, piles of books and CDs, a tennis racket, a music system and all sorts of other private objects are densely arranged in a closed-off corner of the exhibition space. Many of his own oil paintings hang on the walls alongside others. On one of them, a window opens onto a romantic seascape. It is as if the artist's inner world is being turned inside out.
[Herzstück der Ausstellung ist die Installation „All Your Fears Trapped Inside“. In einer abgeschlossenen Ecke des Ausstellungsraums sind dicht gedrängt Möbel, Kleidungsstücke, Bücher- und CD-Stapel, ein Tennisschläger, eine Musikanlage und alle möglichen anderen privaten Gegenstände arrangiert. An den Wänden hängen neben anderen viele eigene Ölbilder. Auf einem davon öffnet sich ein Fenster zu einer romantischen Meereslandschaft. Es wirkt, als würde sich die Innenwelt des Künstlers nach außen stülpen.]
